Having a couple days designated to his kids, Athren had to admit that he needed a break from it from time to time. It wasn't exactly the worst thing to ask for a break every now and then and just do his own thing, something he'd get to do for himself, something he could just have fun with and take lightly for his own fun. Today he had an idea in mind, it had been quite a while since he had a friendly spar with the one he would call his closet friend. Walking through their ship Athren had walked into the common room where a handful of the faction members were eating and relaxing, another bunch of them were out at their campsite. He was looking for one individual specifically, his eyes scanned the room until he saw the tall namekian talking to another crew member. Athren didn't even approach, he simply raised his voice and let it echo throughout the room, all other voices going silent when he began to speak aloud.
"Hey, Ukare!" Athren exclaimed, "If you're not doing anything, I think it's about time we had a rematch!" Though he wasn't paying much attention to anybody else in the room, he could absolutely feel all the eyes shift to look at him and it had only made sense, he was calling out his best friend in a fight. Of course his tone was rather light but it wasn't very often that playful challenges were issued on the ship.
Ukare of course had remained sitting down, his upper body slightly leaned over so he could get a straight few of his saiyan friend. He couldn't help but have a smile grow across his face, he knew that the two of them were completely even when Athren used his demonic power up and the fights had never managed to go to one individual multiple times in a row but that wouldn't stop the playful banter between the two. "You know I wouldn't say no to kicking your ass again, In fact I'd be more than pleased to show you who the strongest in this faction is, any day of the week."
Athren couldn't help but snicker, the banter only pumping him up for a friendly fight even more now. "Oh, you're free to try but I promise you, you won't be the one winning it this time." Athren said as he crossed his arms as he leaned his back against the wall beside the door. "If you need a moment to get your nerves together, I'll wait. I wouldn't want you going into this full of fear and shock of what might actually happen to you after all."
The crowd was rather entertained, they surely would have loved to watch such a battle but this wasn't for them and they knew that. Training wasn't to be spectated for the masses, this training was simply for the two warriors and nobody else. What Ukare wasn't aware of this time around though was that Athren had gotten a fair bit stronger and even with his weights on, he would still be roughly even with Ukare in his demonic transformation. It would be the same as all the other battles, with no specific fighter having the edge. Unless of course Athren had decided to remove his heavy weights and fight like that, but he wasn't about that. He just wanted to have some fun and at the end of the day, Athren really didn't give a shit if he won the spar or not, he just wanted to plow off a little bit of steam.
Ukare had now rose from his seat and began walking over to the door beside his saiyan friend the smirk from his face never fading from his face. "If you're in such a rush to lose, let's get it over with then. Shall we?" Ukare said as he walked through the door and started walking down the hall to exit the ship.
Athren of course followed right behind him, the playful banter now coming to a slow end as Athren had a question. "Any locations in mind? I know you've been all over this big blue orb, Surely you've got a place in mind." Now that it were just the two of them, the banter had stopped. The banter might've been for a show and some light, playful motivation for the two of them to get into the mood for a fight in front of a crowd, even if they didn't care if they lost or not, it would be nice to come back the winner and everybody would know. That's all that was at stake, the masses knowing the outcome and that was some of the fun.
Ukare had nodded his head as they continued to walk and make their leave from the main entrance to the ship and down the ramp. "I do actually, directly north. There's glaciers and quite an open field to have our fight. It's a lot different than what we're used too, I think it would provide a unique environment for us." He trailed along as he lifted up off the ground and started flying north towards the location.
Athren kept right up with the namekian, taking flight and flying right beside his friend. "I've seen it from above, never decide to swing by and visit though. It'll work." Athren really didn't give a shit about the location but he did like the idea of a different environment. It kept things fresh and even gave each fighter more experience in different areas. Athren had never fought in frozen lands, it was going to be a first for him but if he ever had a real fight in them, at least he'd have some kind of idea of what he could use the environment for. Whether that being using techniques in them or just general movement, it was all building towards his overall skill and that, he couldn't say no too.

Ukare couldn't help but let a little chuckle escape his lips as he continued to speak. "I'll tell you this now, there really isn't much reason to visit that place unless you want to freeze. Other than that, It's got little to offer us besides a decent place excluded from the rest of the planet to fight it out." Of course it was smart to keep their little spar away from the general population, they didn't need that kind of damage and didn't need to hurt anybody unintentionally. The further away they were the better.
Athren nodded his head as they continued to fly at a really rapid pace, the wind ruffling his hair around as his ocean blue eyes scanned the environment below. "I didn't think it really had much to offer, I mean the dead give away is that there isn't anything built there. Maybe a few villages in certain regions of the north but.. It's pretty bare. If the Earthling's think it doesn't offer much, I'd doubt it offer much. Kind of a dead give away, you know?" Even if Athren was being a bit of a smart ass, his words weren't necessarily untrue. The barren places on the planet didn't seem to offer much.
As the white frozen north had come into sight, Ukare simply agreed. "I've got to say, you aren't wrong with that one. It's even boring to look at. I'm glad you decided to land us by that mountain. I bet we would've left your ass by now if you decided to land us way up here." Of course he was just playing, he was loyal to Athren and the faction. Even though they were mercenaries and did a lot of bad things for money, they were building towards a cause to let them all live a free life elsewhere. Though the members of the faction weren't evil at heart, they'd do what they needed to do to secure that future. Some had regrets while others didn't, but Ukare respected the goals set. He got to experience what it was like to have a tyrant rule over your race first hand, he saw it and that's why he made his escape and if doing morally questionable things from time to time allowed him to live a long peaceful life afterwards, then it was worth it to him.
Athren snickered as the began to lower themselves down to the frozen wasteland below. "I gotta say, I probably would've left if I landed out here." He said while his ocean blues soaked in the boring looking environment, the ice cold winds kissing his exposed skin and giving him a light shivering tingle. "This place kind of sucks."
The environment around was mostly flat, though there were a handful of large frozen glaciers around them. When Athren's feet had touched down he felt himself begin to slide on the ice and took note that he'd have to prepare for that with his movements during the fight. Last thing he'd need is to slip and slide and ruin an attack or get himself into an attack because of his footing, that would just be a damn shame.
Ukare had flown a little in front of Athren before planting his feet down on the ground. "You're right about that, it absolutely does." It might've sucked but it was going to provide them what they had needed, so he'd be grateful for that. At this point Ukare got right into his fighting pose, now that they were there, there hadn't really been much of a point in keeping on with the small talk. Ukare flared up his aura and brought his power level to the maximum that he could, there wasn't much need for a warm up either, or gauging out your opponents power. They had been through this time and time again.
Athren couldn't help but smirk as he watched Ukare get into his pose, Athren flared up his aura and it immediately changed to purple as his demonic aura took over. He wasn't going to waste time without the transformation, he needed his power level to be double in order to stay evenly matched with the Namekian, especially with his heavy weights being on him at the moment. "I've got to say, I'm liking how we're getting straight to the point. No reason to stay out here and freeze with small talk." Athren stated as he firmly placed his feet on the ground and took his own positioning.
Ukare nodded his head agreeing with the words that were said and he didn't even react to bother with Athren busting out his transformation immediately, this had been nothing new. "Well, we're out here to fight. Aren't we? We might as well get too it." Ukare's confident smirk had returned once again. "And I might have some new moves for you, so you better stay focused and don't get too cocky either."
Athren couldn't help but chuckle as the adrenaline had already been pumping through his body, the cold air no longer tingling his skin like it was previously. "I wouldn't expect anything else from you, but instead of talking about it.. I'd rather you quit wasting my time and just show me, yeah?" At this point Athren observed and prepared for whatever was to come, his eyes looking for any movement to indicate a first attack.
The battle had been set, it was just a matter of time until the first heavy blow was flung towards one of the warriors. Both of them fully prepared for whatever was to come. It was the few moment of peace before the storm came rolling in. The wind continued to race across the landscape, the snow blowing around from time to time. The breath from either warrior shown in the air as their senses had felt heightened by the cold, brisk air. Both warriors were at their peak, both warriors were ready to go. Now it was time to get started.

Ukare had been the first one to make the move, he sprung off his feet and towards his opponent. His speed was swift, his form perfect. He was charging in like a bull, ready to meet his dear friend in combat once again. He was hyped up and excited for this, it had been far too long since the two of them had a chance to just leave everybody and everyone else behind and get in a friendly spar.
When Athren had seen his friend charge in towards him, Athren decided to meet the Namekian's determination with his own. Athren closed the gap and met him right there in the middle, Athren's fist colliding with Ukare's face, Ukare's fist coming right back around and colliding with Athren's. The two evenly matched warriors stayed right there, attacking each other with even speeds. Both of them had been landing and blocking an even amount of blows at a very fast rate and nobody would be gaining the upper hand through this alone. This fight was going to come down to techniques and over all strategy but even that would prove to be difficult, they knew each others fighting styles. They'd have to get creative to gain any kind of an upper hand.
Finally breaking it off from the evenly matched barrage of attacks, Ukare had dropped low and swung his leg at Athren's, Athren simply lifted his foot high and avoided it completely, though Ukare was back up in an instant and put both his hands together to fire a Ki blast directly towards the saiyan's chest.
Athren brought his arms up in the shape of an X and tanked the blow, though it had pushed him across the icy lands and he slid to a stop. He put his body weight slightly forward to maintain his balance. Though Ukare's offensive wasn't going to end there. Sensing Ukare directly above him, Athren glared up quickly. He did it just fast enough to see Ukare coming down hard with a straight punch. Reacting nearly instantly Athren jumped aside and once again went into a slide on the icy ground, the ice around Ukare's punch exploding up from the force from the impact. The saiyan didn't waste any time once he got his balance back, he launched himself forward and swung his right leg wide around and aimed it for Ukare's head. The Namekian of course defending against it nicely, bringing his left arm up to absorb the brunt of the blow. The Saiyan had then followed up by shifting his body forward and colliding his head against Ukare's and this attacked landed firmly, giving Ukare a brief moment of his head moving back and his eyes going upwards into the air, Athren had used that moment to deliver a sharp right punch into the Namekian's stomach.
"URGH!" Slipped from Ukare's mouth in the form of a loud grunt as his body hunched over and spit flew from his mouth and the next thing he felt was a hard kick to his shoulder which sent him flying across the landscape into one of the large glaciers that weren't too far way. He form a large hole in the side of it as his body came to a rapid stop, though Ukare couldn't help but snicker. This fight was exactly what he had been hoping for.
Athren hadn't wanted to stop the offensive that he was on, he sprung forward towards Ukare and tried his hardest to land a hard punch to the face. "AAAAH!" Athren exclaimed as he launched the punch at his friend. Ukare on the other hand had quickly shifted himself out of the way and Athren's fist had collided with the glacier and created an even large creator on it, though with Ukare bringing his leg around and colliding it into Athren's back, Athren had been send crashing through it rapidly and popping out on the other side, hitting the ground and sliding to a halt as the entire glacier cracked and broke apart from the impact. The crashing of the large ice formation was loud and echoed throughout the landscape while Athren swiftly got back to his feet.
Though he was expecting yet another pressing attack, it wasn't coming. He simply saw Ukare standing there with what appeared to be his fist on the ground. Athren simply arched his brow and muttered. "What the hell is he doing now?" Athren wasn't going to waste anymore time and planned to get back to the action but he quickly found out what Ukare had been doing, a fist broke through the ice below him and grabbed onto his ankle, it pulled him down with massive force as the saiyan's body broke the ice further.
He honestly didn't see that coming and though it didn't hurt, he quickly found himself surrounded by darkness, the snow on top of the ice had blocked any light that was going to shine through it's thick layer, the only reason he could tell which way was up from the small amount of light coming in through the hole he created. For a moment he felt himself being reeled in like a fish towards Ukare. Ukare's plan was to jump up, pull Athren through the ice and then stomp him right back down below. Make it hard to breath, hit him and make it hard to breath again. Though as Athren neared Ukare, Athren fired a weak Ki blast underneath his green friend.
This was not to cause damage, this was simply to stumble the namekian and remove the land he was standing on. Quickly Ukare released Athren and he jumped aside. Athren came blasting out of the water and rose up into the air, flaring up his aura and blasting all the water off of himself with the display of his power. His ocean blue eyes focused on Ukare, he took a moment to get a nice deep breath in before he continued on with the fight.

It wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing Athren had ever experienced, being pulled through the cold dark water like that but he got out of it rather quickly. Those damn Namekian's and their stretching limbs, it's something he often forgot about since it wasn't used very often in their fights. Though he'd have to give Ukare credit for the way it was used, it was pretty creative and effective. Athren didn't even think about the water that had been underneath the ice and how it could be used in a fight.
"It's about time you took a bath." Ukare snickered as he fired off a yellow full powerful energy wave from his right hand towards the saiyan that had been in the air.
Athren arched his brow as he saw it coming, he put both of his hands out to stop it. When it had collided with his hands Athren had felt himself being lifted further and further, though he wasn't moving rapidly backwards. At this point in time he had the thing under control mostly. It took him a few moments but he had finally managed to whip it aside and redirect it from his body and into the upper atmosphere. He'd be lying if he said it didn't actually strained him to a point and took a handful of his energy, but after being dragged through the darkness he wanted to show that he was still fully in this and ready to keep it up. "You're going to have to do better than that!" Athren exclaimed as he rushed back down to engage in it further!
Athren closed the gap once again and grounded himself, once again the two fighters had began throwing massive barrages of attacks towards one another. Evenly matched yet again, each warrior let the same amount of attacks slip through their defenses and collide with their bodies but either of them were ready to back down, both of them ramping up as much as they could in effort to overwhelm their opponent but nobody could get the upper hand. The battle had been intense, rapid and so much fun for each of them. Blow after blow the back and fourth continued, both warriors being worn down ever so slightly as each hit kept wearing away at their bodies. This kept on for a bit until both warriors jumped back at the same time to gain a little bit of distance.
The gap between them was a mere few meters and Athren had thought that the short distance between them would provide him with a small enough space to hit Ukare with a Nova Cannon and that's exactly what he was going to go for. Athren's right hand cocked back and he quickly formed the larger, unstable energy ball in his hand before launching it forward towards Ukare.
When Ukare came to a stop on the nice he had noticed Athren's hand positioning, it was one of Athren's signature moves at the time, it was a very common attack that Athren used to deliver a high amount of damage. Ukare had a split second to make a decision. He could either choose to get out or get in and given their rivalry and the nature of the fight itself, he chose to get in. Both his hands went together in front of his chest as a large energy ball had formed in between them. He immediately fired it right back and it met Athren's attack in the dead center of the two of them.
The sound of the two energy balls echoed to both warriors as the wind from their two forces blew back at the users of the technique, both of the contenders began to put more and more into the attack in efforts to push through the oppositions attack. "Grrr." Athren grunted as he tried to keep forcing it forward with his hand still extended. Ukare was doing the exact same thing, though both of his hands were currently pushed forward. "Gaaah!"
With neither warrior making any headway, each fighter began to step towards the colliding energy in efforts to gain control of the situation. Slowly, one step at a time each warrior got closer and closer. Athren had finally extended both hands as he nearly touched the blast that he had fired at his dear friend and his dear friend Ukare had been doing the exact same, his larger green hands almost touching his own energy as well. Athren exclaimed loudly, "You aren't going to overpower this!" With a final push of energy, Athren put everything he had into it in efforts to win.
Ukare once again matched him, he put the remainder of his energy to try and gain control, to try and force his attack through Athren's but a first was about to happen with the two of them. The energy blasts ended up exploding from the amount of force both of the warriors were putting into it. Both warrior being shot back at a high speed and completely drained of energy, their bodies skipping across the icy landscape until the came to a stop, either eager or in a rush to get back to their feet and continue their fight.
Athren had laid there looking up into the blue sky, his breathing was rather heavy as his transformation had vanished due to his current condition. Though he did manage to pop up just enough to glare over at Ukare who was also laying back looking up into the sky. For the first time ever, the two even warriors had come to a complete draw, though Athren had been well aware that if he popped off his weights, he'd have taken this fight pretty easily and came out the winner but where was the fun in that? Regardless of his tired and bruised body, he had more fun than he's had in weeks and he was happy with it. All they had left to do was get back home.
